The Sit Nung Ubon in Ubon Ratchatani is undergoing a refit with a carpet for the floor and some new bags coming and also a stereo system to eventually blast some music during the training sessions.
Here are a few pictures of the Gym and of the people belonging to.

Mr Kanokrat sor Ubon (Mr Long Ubon) is the manager of the gym. He's been a trainer at the famous 13 Coins Gym in Bangkok for years and he is also still fighting like you can see on that picture taken 3 weeks ago a the Radjadamnoern stadium. He is also a respected promoter organising his own boxing events wich are locally attracting a big crowd.
You can read more about him here:

Mr Nung Ubon Sit Lertchai, what else to say than this man is a "living legend".
Founder of the Gym he is still an active fighter going regularly to The Radjadamnoern and other famous stadium to deliver fierce battles.

Two of the very sympathetic main trainers of the gym. These guys are full of Muay Thai knowledge that they are transmitting everydays to the fighters. As the gym is not crowded this give them time to take care of everybody in a proper way.

A day shot of the Gym.

A night shot of the Gym.

Running sessions are happening in the beautifull surroundings of Ubon or in a huge park in the city center where a free "handmade" fitness is available to use.

At last this is a picture of the last event organised and promoted by Mr Long Ubon 3 weeks ago. This took place in Pakseng at the border with Laos. During that night i had my first professional fight at nearly 30 years old... Well there's a start for everything i guess Very Happy !! As in the area there are boxing bouts every weeks another one should follow pretty soon.

For the prices here it will cost you for the full time professional training 15000 Baths/month (around 400 euros) with an onsite individual Thai style confortable room and the meals included.
You can also come for a week or just a single training session.
All levels are welcome from beginners to experienced fighters.
It is very easy to get to the city of Ubonratchatani and the Sit Nung Ubon from Bangkok.
These guys dont have yet a website but you can contact them by e-mail: kanokrat_boxing@hotmail.com or give a call: +66(0)816439692
As i ve been training there and know the Gym quite well i can also give you more informations if you want about anything you would like to know, just send me a mail julienrivierefr@yahoo.fr
I am doing this report like i did for a few others gyms because i received a great support from them in my training and talking about the places where I've been well taken care is a way for me to say thank you.

Posted: Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:39 pm As promise this is a little update about the Sit Nung Ubon which became now the Long Ubon Cobra Muay Thai Academy as Pi Nung gave the management to Mr Long (Mr Kanokrat). A few pictures so:

This Nak Muay from the gym was fighting today on Channel7 fo the Thai TV.

Orono came to help with clinching and sparring as he is doing sometimes for the Nak Muay training here.

The ring.

There's a lot of opportunity to fight around here, like last friday in a temple.

Mr Long which has been a Lumpinee champion in his prime and which is now the manager and head trainer.

An interwiew done when he was at the 13 coins gym.

One of his best achivement and memories as a trainer is to have taken care of Fabio Pinca before his victorious Thai Fight tournament 2 years ago.

Sometimes a few visitors are coming and Pi Nung is OK to take out his Lumpinee and Radja champion belts for a picture between 2 rounds of paos.

For the KO's lover, that's a vintage one!!

The local fighters delight: red ants and red ants eggs soup.

So if you are coming around dont be shy and show up at the gym!!
