Steve WAKELING WBC Super-middleweight World Champion
The Champions Club 6 - Pattaya
After a two-year break, the Englishman Steve WAKELING made his comeback last Saturday (January 8, 2011). It was during the Champions Club 6 which was held for the first time in Pattaya.
WAKELING, who trained hard at Sitsongpeenong gym during several weeks, won a first fight in December at the Lumpini Stadium.
His match-up against the WBC Super-middleweight World Champion JAOWCHALAM Chatkranokgym (Thailand) gave him the opportunity to return to center stage.
After a quiet beginning, the two boxers are neck and neck until the 4th round : WAKELING speeds things up. With a sequence of knees to the body and head, he sends the Thai to the canvas. The referee gives him a standing 8 count and JAOWCHALAM comes back. But a few seconds later an other knee from WAKELING reaches the Thai's chest. JAOWCHALAM falls again and the referee stops the bout for good.
After loosing his Middleweight World Title in 2007 against LAMSONGKRAM, Steve WAKELING is the new WBC Super-middleweight World Champion.
