Jérôme LE BANNER injured and out of GLORY 10
Jerome Le Banner has been forced out of his GLORY 10 LOS ANGELES showdown with Sergey Kharitonov after suffering a neck injury in training.
“I am very disappointed I cannot fight in Los Angeles for my American fans,” Le Banner said today. “They are great fans and I was looking forward to meet Sergey in the Glory ring: we would have put on a show for them. I will make it up to them in the future.”
With a replacement opponent unavailable at this late stage, Kharitonov will be moved to an upcoming GLORY event. An announcement regarding the date and opponent will be made in the near future.
World #2-ranked lightweight contender Robin Van Roosmalen now takes the GLORY 10 headline slot with Swiss standout Shemsi Beqiri in the opposite corner. The two are competing for a place in the upcoming GLORY Lightweight World Championship Tournament in NY and a fierce encounter is expected.
Also competing for a place in the Lightweight Tournament are co-headliners Murthel Groenhart and Davit Kiria.
Groenhart fights out of Mike’s Gym, where he numbers Badr Hari and Paul Daley among his training partners, while Kiria is a karate stylist who trains under GLORY Heavyweight Champion Semmy Schilt.
GLORY 10 LOS ANGELES takes place Saturday, September 28 at the Citizen Bank Arena in Los Angeles, California.
It features elite superfights and a four-man middleweight championship tournament between Joe ‘Stitch ’Em Up’ Schilling, Artem ‘The Lion’ Levin, Steven Wakeling and Jason ‘Tyson’ Wilnis.
